Former Los Angeles Lakers beat writer, future screenwriter, and currently enjoying writing about the WWE and its amazing superstars!

Back when the WWE Universe was first getting acquainted with NXT, a group of women were put into the spotlight to prove why they were future WWE superstars. Naomi was not only just one of those women, she showed the entire fan base that her astonishing athleticism was what separated her from the rest of the pack. She was performing moves in the ring that not many had ever seen before, and it made every member of the Universe start taking notice.

Naomi then got her chance on the main roster when she became a backup dancer, along with Cameron, for The Funkasaurus named Brodus Clay. Although the Funkadactyls were incredibly entertaining at that time, we all knew of the talent that Naomi possessed inside that squared circle and were just waiting for her to get the opportunity to display it to the entire wrestling world.

We almost got that opportunity at the grandest stage of WrestleMania when herself, Cameron, Brodus, and Tensai were set to face the team of The Bella Twins, Cody Rhodes, and Damien Sandow. However, we were all hit with the feeling of disappointment when we found out that the match was cut from the card due to time constraints. It's safe to say that fans of Naomi were totally displeased with that decision as they all wanted to watch the athletic Funkadactyl show the world what she can do at the biggest event of the year.

Regardless, the WWE Universe remained steadily patient as they knew they would be able to watch Naomi do what she does best in that ring eventually. Her talent was TOO good to dismiss.

The Funkadactyl Becomes A Reality Star

In the inaugural season of the hit show called Total Divas, Naomi was given the opportunity of a lifetime when the first ever WWE reality show let fans get to know more about her. Women of the WWE at that point were still struggling to find consistent air time on Raw and SmackDown. The creation of Total Divas not only gave the women involved more of a platform, it gave members of the WWE Universe the chance to root and cheer for them even more on WWE programming.

The show gave us all an inside look into the life of Naomi (a.k.a Trinity) and created a personal appreciation for who the real woman truly is. It also made us find out more about the amazing relationship she has with her husband and fellow WWE superstar, Jimmy Uso. The connection that those two displayed on-screen resonated to the audience of Total Divas significantly and made the duo a fan-favorite to watch.

I thoroughly believe that Naomi's time on Total Divas completely uplifted her to another level when it comes to respect for what she does inside the WWE ring. It opened all our eyes to how awesome she is as a human being and made the fans of WWE admire her more than they already did.

Naomi TURNS A New Leaf

The WWE Universe were so used to seeing Naomi in a positive light, seeing her smile while dancing around, and seeing her just having an overall good time. After countless attempts at winning the Diva's championship against the likes of Nikki Bella, A.J Lee, and Paige, it was then time for the aggressive side of Naomi to come out and play.

In April of 2015, a battle royal took place on an episode of Raw to determine Bella's next number one contender for the Diva's championship. After Paige was victorious by throwing Naomi out of the ring last, the once happy-go-lucky Funkadactyl made it her mission to let the world know that she ultimately had enough and viciously attacked Paige. This shocking change of attitude put the entire women's locker room on notice and let every single person watching know that Naomi was now FOR REAL.

A few months later, the astronomical movement called the Women's Revolution began when Stephanie McMahon introduced new competition for Team Bella, which included The Bella Twins and Alicia Fox. The second team assembled was Team PCB, which consisted of Paige alongside the debuting Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Naomi, Tamina Snuka, and another debuting superstar named Sasha Banks were the third team formed and together they named themselves Team B.A.D.

Perhaps one of my favorite times in the history of the WWE, the three teams ignited absolute passion from the WWE Universe in a way that the women haven't been able to do in years. The roof was literally blown off the arena that night when those 9 women went ballistic on each other, forming the respect and appreciation every member of the WWE Universe now have for the women today.

One would think that without ever competing on the same roster at the same time before that the three women of Team B.A.D wouldn't have the chemistry needed right off the bat. However, the connection between the three was undeniably evident to the point where you thought they had been together for YEARS. Team B.A.D was on a mission, and that mission was to run over the entire women's division...in UNITY.

Naomi Feels The Glow--Then Feels The Gold

After being on the shelf for a short while in 2016, Naomi decided to leave her "B.A.D." ways behind and return to the WWE in the most spectacular way one can imagine. With a new look, a new entrance, and new theme music, it was now time for the WWE Universe to start feeling something. That special something was The Glow.

The innovative new entrance became the perfect correlation to the style that Naomi possesses inside the squared circle--upbeat and fast-paced. Whenever the lights go off, her music hits, and her glow appears, the WWE Universe can't help but to instantly become infected with an enormous amount of positive energy pumping through their bodies.

This fresh start led Naomi into a SmackDown Live Women's title match with the then champion, Alexa Bliss, at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. After all the opportunities and failed attempts over the previous few years, the most athletic female superstar to ever step foot in the WWE had finally reached her ultimate goal. She became champion. You can feel the excitement and happiness that Naomi expressed all over her face as she stood inside the squared circle, listening to the "You deserve it" chants pouring down all around her.

Although she had to vacate the title a couple of days later, she danced her way into WrestleMania in her hometown of Orlando, Florida and took back the gold that was rightfully hers, creating a moment in her career that she will never, ever forget.

The career of Naomi thus far in the WWE has been the personification of the true underdog story. She came from a women's NXT show where she performed in obstacle courses and random non-wrestling challenges, to then becoming a backup dancer for a male superstar, to then finally coming into her own and winning a major women's title.

She worked hard, had patience, and made herself into one of the best in the business today. It's one-hundred percent clear nowadays that after all Naomi has been through in her sky-rocketing career, the entire WWE Universe has felt, and will continue to feel, that darn glow.

Thank you, Naomi, for providing the awe-inspiring entertainment that you have over the last few years. Your journey down the WWE avenue has been one I've personally enjoyed being a passenger on. When you finally became champion, I remember standing on my feet in my living room, feeling the importance of what that moment meant for you and your family. Continue to shine bright, continue to work hard, and most definitely, continue to FEEL THE GLOW!

Which of these is YOUR favorite Naomi moment?
